Ta'ini is an older man with a bald head and stringy beard. He is a Lunar Exalted whose totem animal is the lion's mane jellyfish. He has proclaimed to have been a scavenger lord in his past.

One of the commanders in the Moonshadow pirates. Ta'ini is known to keep an eye on whatever Pika is working on. He disagrees with these researches and has claimed that whatever was on Saigoth can better be left on the bottom of the sea.

Ta'ini is sceptical of Solar Exalted. He was willing to listen to the problems regarding the Western Hive. He is willing to help out in that regard, but remains on guard in case the party want to use this First Age horror project for their own plans.

His ship is the Drifter.
