Mali Kamara is a demon that feeds on ambition. She once travelled through the United States in the coterie of Prince Edmund under the name Clementine, and is rumoured to have had a relationship with him.

The coterie struck a deal with to work together to find Alexander's treasure, and to share the spoils with her should we find it. To make this easier, she possessed Clyde, until she used her powers to rescue the coterie from the collapse of Kazar's domain.

Some time after arriving in London Lady Gallorett performed a ritual to allow her to possess Lady Lenora.

She is married to Kazar, though the only encounters between the two witnessed by the coterie so far involved loud shouting at angry tones of voice in an ancient tongue.

Appearance

Mali Kamara rarely manifests directly but if she does so, most of her body mimics a human's appearance. She appears as a woman of uncertain descent, wearing an long black robe. She does not walk (nor does she seem to have legs), but instead floats a foot above the ground, slowly rotating in place and moving at odd angles as she pleases—which leads to a sense of unease in those not used to it.

Unlike a human, she has a "fin" of hollow bone protrusions coming out of her back, with one chimney bone for each vertebrae of her spine. Black smoke slowly wafts from the hollow bones, as if her spine is smouldering.
