Central Quarter
The Clock Tower is a large tower on top of a hill in the Central Quarter. Its top is the highest point in the city and the clock can be heard for miles around, including everywhere in the city. It is sounded every hour to indicate the time. Planters of honeysuckle stand around the base of the tower, cheering up the tower.
Beyond keeping time, the Clock Tower also functions as the cities bureau of standards and measurements, making sure all scales and measuring equipment in the city points to the same number. This is especially important in trade, as buyers are not too keen on merchants reducing the weight of their measures to pull a fast one.
