Extra Fields

Mother: Omitsu Emiko

Kasumi of the Omitsu clan was born into a wealthy noble family, the niece of the shogun. Born into a life of courtly etiquette and stifling marriage prospects she ran away from her clan to travel, perform and explore the wilder life. Kasumi was then shunned by her parents, but lived an eventful life of travel and adventure. Going on great adventures has allowed her to incorporate larger than life tales into her creations.

A life of adventure has taught her that, sometimes there are times when you send in the barbarian to 'smash'. But a large amount of problems can be solved by proper research or a fact recalled from years ago. And a diplomatic approach to presenting these facts.

Becoming a more famous performer and a rich and powerful adventurer meant she became an asset to her family again, instead of the liability run away daughter no one talked about. Kasumi made some amends with her parents, bringing her into contact with more nobility again. She still has a tense relationship with her mother however, and her mother is rather curt to her, and Kasumi to her when the topic of marriage comes up once again.

One of Kasumi's more climactic adventuring achievements was the conversion of a troupe of dragons to the god Belirea. After a conflict broke out where the troupe was threathened by dangerous hunters, Kasumi as the frontman negotiated protection under the aegis of the church. Kasumi has kept up friendly contact ever since, and has a particular fondness for all dragons.

With the added punch provided by gestalthood, Kasumi has decided to focus on the power of the mind as an enhancement to the body. The twin division of proper noble lady and outgoing adventurer has deepened now that she has gained more strength with which to smash her obstacles.

Kasumi left her previous party when it disintegrated when Paulus left after irreconcilable differences in objectives to be achieved. Whilst Paulus kept wanting to liberate the people of tyrants, and did not stop given the chance, he did keep the group together for as long as it lasted.

Character

"If you can't sing a song in 10 different languages, have you really travelled?" - Omitsu Kasumi

Described by one of her former party members as 'essentially a good person'. She cares for other people, certainly when they don't get in the way of her performance. If it only requires some effort, she is perfectly willing to help others, however she is reluctant to make sacrifices for others.

Kasumi holds to a certain standard of decorum, emitting a sense that she is a prim and proper noble lady. If a bit artistically inclined. Proper behaviour makes it much more smooth to travel into and out of the courts of royals. This is the standard she holds herself to when out of danger and amongst civilisation.

Whilst out and about she sometimes presents a different face, more pliable to breaking tradition and decorum if it proves effective. Here she is willing to ply brute force, and if there is no one else around to wield it, she may have to do it herself.

This division also presents itself in her music. Amongst noble courts she will perform the more acceptable arts. When amongst commoners or in the wild she will switch her tune to more progressive and adventurous acts.

Kasumi prefers her music fast and loud, or slowly rising to a crescendo, which is aided by magically enhanced performances. She was trained as a singer as a child, but has developed a fascination with the lute (( lute subject to change )).

Once spent a concert performing a different song in 12 languages. But not Terran, because it does not rock. Kasumi has performed in the court of every Shogun in Heisei, and many cities and courts abroad.

The good life, is a life of comfort and luxury, but also adventure. Being part of grand tales and finding long lost knowledge, in some comfort though. Good in life is performing to a crowd, be they commoners or artistically inclined aristocracy, or weirder audiences yet. Kasumi does not like spending her time wading through swamps, even if the dirt can be prestidigitated, the feeling can not.

Whilst Kasumi is a naturally handsome brunette, she spends a great deal of attention perfecting it. Be it through Yuki's hands and some magic. She does relish in traditional Heisei outfits.

Kasumi is a strong believer in Noblesse Oblige, the responsibility that being a noble entails. The duty of care towards those weaker that are obligated of someone powerful. The nobility takes care of the peasantry and defends them, whilst they levy taxes on the peasants.

Kasumi has taken part is some cursory courtships, but for the main part has remained aloof, as is the ideal. She takes most of her ideas about courtship from popular tales, and the romance books that are all the rage amongst younger noble women.

Retinue

Omitsu keeps a minimal staff of three people around. Although sometimes more accumulate in home bases.

Sen Mano: Appears as a bodyguard for Kasumi. Because all noble women travelling must have bodyguards. During regular adventures he sets up the tents, gathers firewood and tends to minor wounds.

Yoriie Taketa: Cook. Prepares the food and ensures that there is food to be had, master of provisions and gathers food if necessary.

Shoko Yuki: Daughter of a daimyo in the Katsuyama prefecture. Works as a lady's maid in the retinue. Used to be tasked with washing the clothing, and still with general outfit maintenance and purchase.

(( World view? Nobility is good and the natural order of things. Doesn't like going out alone. There have been one or two farmers who were good to her, but the rest don't really count as people. General conservative views, except on what women can do. ))
