The mother of Kasumi, she is the sister-in-law of the Shogun of Omitsu family. She has lived most her life in Katsuyama.

Emiko is a fairly traditional woman, during her early years she lived outside the city in a castle where she had a very conservative view and stuck to traditions. In the recent years with the influence from being Kasumi's mother, she and Omitsu Ietaka have moved closer to the court. This has meant sometimes bending principles to secure her family's place through politics, which has made her less rigid.
