Differences on Force Power

Differences between by and the current version
The hallmark of Jedi is their use of the Force to perceive and influence the world. In FWURG, Force Powers are represented as distinct powers, each of which has a specific effect upon the world. A FForce powers can only be learned or used if the Jedi meets certain [[Virtue]] requirements. If the character fails to meet these requirements for any reason, the force power cannot be used by the character (but they still know it, and can only be used if the character meets certain [[virtue]] requirements. If the character fails to meet thesregain access simply by meeting the requirements for any reason, the force power cannot be used by the character. The Virtue requirements for using a force power are the same as for learning the power in the first place, meaning that you can always use a power you just learned. Furthermore, some Force Powers can only be learned after mastering other, more basic, Force powersonce more). //[[Jedi Progression]]: A Force PowerCharacter Creation]]: Starting characters can only be learned from someone that knows it, or from a holocron (or similar Force-related source of knowledge)acquire force powers with their starting [[training points]]. Furthermore, all Jedi Padawan automatically get the [[Innate Force Powers]] for free.// //[[Jedi Character Creation]]: ThereProgression]]: Jedi can learn new force powers (as described below) if they are no additional character creation notes beyond those for progression[[jedi training availability|available]] to the Jedi Order by spending [[training points]].// ==== Force RatingAll Force Powers ==== JediThis is a list of all designed Force Powers. A Force Power can only be learned from someone that knows it, or from a holocron (or similar Force-related source of knowledge), see [[jedi training availability]] for an up-to change the world through their Force-date listing. Normally the Jedi Order provides the necessary training materials. Furthermore, a Jedi must meet three requirements: * Powers are also affected by their use of those powers. We represent this with their Force Ratings. * **Light Force Rating** representscan be of [[Initiate]], [[Padawan]], [[Knight]] or [[Master]] level. This indicates that the Jedi should be of the noted rank or higher before they can learn the force power. * All Force Powers build on the Jedi's use ofnderstanding of the Force. This is represented by these powers having [[Virtue]] requirements. A virtue requirement is satisfied if the Jedi has the listed rating or higher for the indicated virtues. * Many Force Powers build on mastery and understanding of other powers. A Jedi must have mastered all listed prerequisite powers before they can continue their understanding of the Light virtues to influence the world through the Force. * **Dark Force Rating** shows the Jedi's use of their insight into the Dark virtues to influence the world through the Forcelearning. The Light and Dark Force ratingIf all these requirements are computedmet, the Jedi can learn the force power by simply counting the number of Light and Dark force powers a character has (ignoring the [[#Innate Force Powers|innate powers]]). If a character has 5 Light Force powers, they have a light force rating of 5. Neutral powers counts as either Light or Dark for a Jedi's force rating depending on their highest virtue (that is, if the highest Virtue is a Light virtue, neutral powers count as light; if the highest virtue is a Dark virtue, neutral powers count as dark)pending 10 [[training points]]. ==== Using Force Powers ==== At the start of each Mission, a Mission,Jedi gains **Light Force Points** and **Dark Force Points** equal to their light and dark force ratings (explained below). The player can spend these force point pools to use force powers. The two pools of force points do not replenish during a Jedi gainmission, so it is very possible for starting Jedi to "run out", and not be able to call upon the Force again for the rest of that mission. How you use a force power depends on the type of the power: * **Active** powers must be activated to gain their benefits (note that this activation might be a Player choice, their character might very will do this instinctively). Active powers normllay require an expenditure of 1 force point, otherwise their cost is listed with the type indicator in the description. Depending on whether the power is Light or Dark their activation cost must respectively be paid in Light Force Points or Dark Force Points. Neutral powers can be activated with either kind of Force Points (even mixed if necessary). * **Passive** powers are "always on", and Dark Force points equalhave no cost in Force Points to get their lightbenefits. A Jedi can supress a passive power if he so desires. Note that each passive power is a distinct effect. (Passive powers can be understood as a special case of Active powers that have a cost of zero, and darkthat are always activated.) * **Enhancement** powers add options to other powers or change them in some way. Sometimes they list an additional cost, which is to be paid in addition to the normal costs for the power that is enhanced. If another power is explicitly listed that power is the one that is enhanced, if no power is listed, the text of the power should clarify which powers are augmented. Furtermore, to get the benefits of a force ratings. These points can be used during the mission to activate force powerspower (regardless of type) the Jedi must meet the virtue requirements of the power. If, for any reason, the Jedi no longer meets the virtue requirements they still have the power but lose all use of it. They cannot use the power again until they meet the requirements once more. ==== All Force PowerForce Ratings ==== ThisJedi that use the Force to change the world through their Force Powers are also affected by their use of those powers. We represent this with their **Light Force Rating** and **Dark Force Rating**. Each of these ratings represents the Jedi's training and understanding in using Light or Dark force powers. The Light and Dark Force ratings are computed by counting the number of Light and Dark force powers a Jedi knows (including those they cannot currently use). [[Jedi Padawan]] and above add 3 points to the correct rating because of their mastery of the [[innate force powers]]. Neutral powers counts as either Light or Dark for a Jedi's force rating depending on their highest [[virtue]]. That is, if the highest Virtue is a list of all designed Force Powers. Note that not all of thesLight virtue, neutral powers count as light; if the highest virtue is a Dark virtue, neutral powers count as dark. (If A Light and Dark virtue are availabletied for training.highest Jedi count neutral powers as Light.) The training regime of the Jedi emphasizes physical fitness and awareness. Because of[[Jedi Order]] will expell all jedi that every have Dark Force Rating of more than 20% of their Light Force Rating. Note that this can very quickly happen if you have a Dark Virtue as highest virtue, since all jedi manifest certain innate forceyour neutral powers will "swap sides" in that are embedded in the Jedi tradition: * **Movement** All Jedi have greatly improved mobility. They can jump a bit further, run a little faster, and make effective use of the environment to jump off ledges and pipes, allowing them to move around with relative ease. * **Pull** All Jedi can pull their lightsaber, and other small unattended objects, into their hand with the Force, even from a few meters away if need be. * **Enhanced Reflexes** All Jedi have superb reflexes, and can react to events with great speed and precision. For many Jedi this manifests itself in being able to dodge blaster fire, or pulling a lightsaber before the first shot is fired. All Jedi characters are assumed to have mastered these innate force powers at the moment they achieve Padawan rank. All of these powers are //Passive//, and do not count towards your force rating. These powers are of such a fundamental nature that the training regime of the Sith imparts exactly the same innate powers on its pupils. These basic powers are an ingrained part of the Jedi and Sith tradition. Other training regimes (such as that of the Night Sisters) might impart other innate force powers on their pupilscase.
