Washington Brown is the Steward aboard the SS Stanton, his main duties include serving the luxury passengers and officers in their mess. As such, his knowledge of Kindred extends further than that of most of the crew, even if they are technically In-the-Know.

A mixed race child of a white father and an African-American mother, he fled to the north during the troubles leading up to the civil war. He received a basic education and has learned on-the-job after being hired by Sir von Wedel.
