William Mansfeld is the Business Agent of Sir von Wedel, travelling with him to London on the SS Stanton.

Background

A third generation German-American by birth, he was born in Boston into a middle class family, but found that a life of clerical work wasn't for him.

As soon as he was old enough, he became adventuring type who spent some time as a travelling salesman before settling down in New York. He worked his way up in the von Wedel business empire, starting as a sales clerk and working his way up through the retail and hotel businesses.

He got married and divorced his wife after an alleged affair (by whom is disputed between the couple).

Personality

William is cheerful fellow with a Bostonian accent. He is outgoing and personable, with an eye for detail. Though he is experienced with business contracts and making deals, this is his first time visiting England, and like von Wedel he is more accustomed to an American way of doing things.
