Jalal Hachim is one of four gallery custodians/footmen that report to Sir Hanagan. Of Morrocan origin, he and his brother Omar came to London by way of France. Their employer, Sir di Grimani, still refers to them as Turks. During the nightly opening hours, they usually guard the gallery. Other duties might include answering the door and accompanying Di Grimani when travelling on foot and by carriage. They have expensive livery uniforms in the style of the Nightwatch painting and faux halberds. (Wage: £30).
