A landed estate a four hours' carriage ride out of London
Bridewater Manor is a well-appointed manor house in the countryside. The lands associated with the estate are worked by tenant farmers. The small community forming little more than a hamlet with its six outlying farms, four small village houses clustered together with two farms and a small Anglican chapel.
