Character Background

Life

Born in a small town near Innsbruck, George Dann (born Georg Danzl) left the family farm in search of a better life. In Innsbruck he started establishing himself as a man who makes connections. These allowed travel and study. These took him from Innsbruck to Vienna and Slovenia, specifically Laibach / Llubljana. He got connections within the Habsburger court and from there travelled west, to Hamburg. In Hamburg he got passage to Hoboken, NJ and traveled on to New York. There he established his conned history, descendance from the Dukes of Krain, a line which at that time was long extinct and the Duchy taken over by the Habsburgers. With such a distance, the con was easily manufactured though. This influence and ease of building a social network and status got the attention of the local Kindred.

(( To be included: A Vampire in NY section ))

A New York state of mind

Lord Krain took to the highly racist and classist demeanors of clan Badore. These are not to be mistaken for confederate support though. Supporting a loser makes you a loser. Being succesful (or useful) elevates one on the scale, which makes his evaluation of people a complex one.

Yet, below that veneer of contempt, while he would tackle one who tries to punch up it is beneath him to kick down to elevate himself. Bullies who do try show themselves to be so close to the lower rungs that it lowers them on the Krain scale and can expect to be put in their place for that.

Struggles

Life as a vampire can be hard for a socialite conman such as George. At times melonchaly of the things lost can be presenting, as evidenced in quotes such as these: "You know how hard it is to keep your connections if you only can connect at night? How hard it is to play a decent round of Golf or stroll through a sunlit Central Park?", "even dueling has lost it's sazz. Before, I knew I would escape unharmed because of my skill. Yet now, its not mine that makes me live. It's another's blood in my veins keeping me walking".

Interests

George retains his passion in development though. Firearms and inventions still spark his interest and a developing buisiness in those fields can easily attract his attention. Another interest that has not waned is his interest in ladies with ties to wealth and influential families, both Caine and Kindred.

To London

As word spread of American werewolves in London, George was sent East once more. Associates in the Old Country may not even have heard of his passing, or even from his alleged ties. Yet, London is far enough from mainland Europe to continue his claims in the society of Clan Angliae, thus keeping his status and ensuing connections.

Arriving in London, Lord Krain was introduced to the coterie at 23/11/1875 under the guise of being a courier for Masquerade sensitive letters. It turned out he was rather late, as by the coterie's actions the wolves were already tearing up one-another. An awkward phase followed, were both the European etiquette, the attitude towards "Americans" and high class falling upwards proved a challenge.

Back to basics

Following up on a treasure hunt and seeking an excuse to get out of town until the Peace returned, the coterie went to America. What better way to prove station then to be an easier way in in New York. It's hard though, when certain language on money is just such a painful truth.

Go West

Long Term Goals

Lord Krain is looking to solidify his influence and getting to terms with the relatively new society he's rolling with. From short to long, the following goals are to be established:

  1. Establishing position within the Coterie
  2. Solidifying claims on the Duke’s title by establishing history and documentation
  3. Finding a rich and influential spouse
  4. Using the newfound position to grow into the ranks
