Zawadi is an African woman, said to have been embraced during the beginning of the end of British rule in Kenya by the Ventrue attempting to wrest control over the region and quell rebellion. Zawadi’s origins may have made her more likely to be a Brujah, but her tenacity and her insistence on being free and independent like her once beloved homeland has lead her to become a powerful kindred within the clan.

What circumstance that caused her to leave Kenya and resurface in New York is unknown, but she is here in the modern age, a relatively recent arrival, though prior to the current Prince's rise to power.

She has a fondness for and support in the immigrant communities, not only the African ones. She also is a big supporter among the African-american community. She will not suffer any slights, as a woman or as a person of color. While cool-headed and rational, she knows a few truths about the world that she finds to her disliking.
