Notes

Barnabas is a handsome man with a piercing gaze. He is a bit unkempt at times, but he cleans up nicely if he chooses. He is experienced and sure of his abilities, walking with a confidence of such. Often dressed in comfortable clothes, jeans and a black turtleneck, coupled with a jacket, or a coat with a hood, but can at times dress to impress.

Glabro

Appearance: Much like in homid, but broader shoulders, larger muscles, hairier and with a pronounced brow and bushy eyebrows, sharp teeth and longer nails, the man now looks more of a brute, and speaks with a rough, coarse voice.

Crinos

Appearance: In his warform, his fur is black, a large torso with long sleek but muscular arms, ending in vicious claws. Sharp white teeth and still that piercing gaze in those lupine eyes, snarling and ferocious, this is one of Gaia’s warriors ready to kill.

Hispo

Appearance: A giant dark beast in the shape of a wolf, nearly black, with a sharp row of teeth and a look inspiring fear in this smart enough to recognise a dire wolf. Overtly dangerous, and clearly a predator.

Kinfolk of note:

Bob the Mechanic. His name is not Robert, but people call him Bob. He works the salvage yard, running the day to day operations, the more legit deals, and is mostly squeaky clean in terms of crime at least. His hands is a different matter. Think the Luke in Gilmore girls, but as a mechanic.

Rutger “Diesel” Diefenbacher, a biker, shared loyalties between the Nation and The Damned, and old but small gang, surviving on the outskirts of larger groups mostly by brokering deals. Gruff oldtimer, in his late forties, stubborn and headstrong, he has proven valuable to the tribe time and again, though he tends to have some residual taint on him.

Edna Forrester, Head Waitress at Nite Owl Diner. Not all Shadow Lords or their kin are among the higher echelons of society, and Edna knows well that “her” place is a meeting spot, a night-open cafe, where information is overheard and shared.

Glinda “Red” Nettleton. Glinda works in the meatpacking industry, a larger heavyset woman, with bright red hair (dyed, but she’ll never admit to that) Glinda likes meat and smoking Virginia slims, she’s worked her way up to shift manager at the warehouse.

Contacts in detail:

Roger “Rocky Macchiato” Mancino, a former boxer who never got anywhere, the nickname a throwback to those days, but Roger fences stolen goods and sells information, running a pawn shop in the city. Still got a bit of a boxer’s build, though he’s getting up in the years and his combed back hair is starting to recede up his head.

John Andrews, NYPD Detective Andrews is the typical cop, slightly overweight, drinking problem, two failed marriages and estranged kids, he’s a stereotype, with a secret that Barnabas learned a blackmailed him about. That deal has been settled, and now their relationship is a give and take, though, but Andrews is in too deep to dare move on Barnabas, at least while the Lord still has the upper hand.

Deepak Dobriyal, a cabbie with aspiring actor dreams that went unfulfilled. Deepak knows who goes where, and sees a lot of the city, as he works double shifts to support a new line of headshots that will surely get him a role, anytime soon… of Indian descent, he speaks with an accent despite being a young child when he moved to the US, but it “is expected”. Barnabas makes sure to keep Deepak in mind when there’s a need for a driver, and to keep him paid as his act as a taxi driver will net him information.

Alexei Gregorin, a resident of Little Odessa, and originally of Ukrainian descent, he’s well-known as a hang around to the various mobsters there, but also a few other criminal elements. Barnabas and him have a mutually beneficial arrangement, their give and take a friendly nature, while they are in the same business, of sorts, their needs don’t overlap. Alexei is also sure that Barnabas has some connection he can use, while in turn Barnabas knows that Alexei does.
