NYBN Rules of Behavior and Player Expectations

No tags

Here you will find some general behavior guidelines for NYbN.

Welcome to New York by Night.

Darkness Abounds WoD is just that. Dark. Please, let's keep it there.

Your character is free to have any opinion that fits; however, personal attacks out of character, FOR ANY REASON aren't acceptable.

Keep In character and OOC Separate!

Bad shit happens, and yes it can happen in-game. Please act like an adult and remove yourself from a situation that is uncomfortable. Talk to an ST if you feel it absolutely necessary.

Keep illegal shit out of our game. This ought to be Common Sense. Yet, these days it seems common sense isn't so common, is it?

If it will get you arrested IRL and the game owners in trouble, just don't do it

Listen and respect the decision of the NYBN Staff.

Their decisions are final. If you feel it is wrong, or you have been treated unfairly please contact @Lizzy4277 on our Discord Server or Via Forum PM with clear and concise reasoning for your appeal.

Play characters that fit this world. Remember that you are playing a Changeling, Mage, Vampire, or Werewolf. In the eyes of the mass public, you are a monster.

You are not a glitter-farting,rainbow-vomiting angel with endless powers and the irresistible looks of a god. And just remember Mortals may be squishy, but they outnumber you making them the most dangerous thing in this world.

Anti-Harassment Edicts:

1. Disturbing the Peace NYbN has combat. But we don't expect players to outwardly go around picking fights with other players in a manner that incites hatred or malice from the encounter. Repetitive messaging of a player to disturb their playing experience is expressly forbidden out of character.

2. Harassment Given the game that NYbN is, harassment can take on many different faces within the game itself. Communicating or behaving in such a manner that is coarse, intimidating or threatening, or anything else that may cause annoyance or alarm can be constituted as harassment out of character.

3. Disclosure People within NYbN are entitled to a bit of privacy when playing this game. Their real-life genders, age, sexual orientation, personal preferences, religion, real-life locations, or other personal details are their own to keep. You may not share any information about them with other people in or outside of the game.

4. Intolerance The residents of NYbN come from many walks of life and lifestyles. Actions that marginalize, defame, or belittle individuals or groups inhibit the playing experience and exchange of ideas within the community as a whole. The use of derogatory or demeaning language or imagery in reference to another player's religion, race, ethnicity, gender identity, age, or sexual orientation is never allowed within NYbN out of character.
