Arcadian Sidhe

How does the Arcadia Sidhe Dreaming Frailty, Empathic Blindness, affect interactions with Commoner Oathmates?

Oaths are backed by the Dreaming. Empathic Blindness will not force an Arcadian Sidhe to break an Oath nor will it negate the existence of an emotional bond or adherence to any abstract political or social beliefs. However, it will lead the Sidhe to behave in a more dominant, more aloof, and less considerate manner. Even if the Sidhe consciously tries to act otherwise, such attempts will often come across as condescending or patronizing. This can certainly create strain between friends or lovers. A great deal also depends upon the Kith of the Commoners involved. As they moved deeper into the Dreaming, a Troll might be an evil more loyal companion and a Boggan even more eager to please while an even more ravenous Redcap or an independent and flighty Eshu might become even worse companions for a Sidhe.

If rolls are actually made, a close relationship also provides a difficulty modifier. For any roll based on, Empathy rolls, a close friend or a lover is -1 to -3 to difficulty. If the situation is being handled only through roleplay, remember that the change is relative but is still a change. A Sidhe’s best friend is still easier to read than other Commoners, who are now far beneath the Sidhe’s notice, but is no longer any easier to read than even a completely unfamiliar Noble.

Keep in mind that the Frailty affects not every social system but only roles to interact socially. It primarily involves an inability to relate to Commoners. Intimidation and Leadership rolls are not affected. Sidhe are only more terrifying and commanding in the Dreaming.

Eshu

I want my Eshu to have a lot of experience in their Ancestral Homelands, in this life or a past one, but the Player’s Guide gives Kiths for those regions and makes little mention of Eshu or Oba. Are Eshu still from Africa, India, and the Middle East?

The Player’s Guide/ might focus on new Kiths but the Eshu’s origins are the same as they ever were. Every part of the Land of Ancient Dreams and al-Hilal al-Khaseeb counts Eshu and Oba as an indigenous Kith alongside those newly introduced, although some places might know them by a different name. The Nobles in the Land of Ancient Dreams whose Kiths are not mentioned can be assumed to be Oba, though only an Eshu or a member of another indigenous Kith would know. A European Kithain might mistake them for Sidhe whose Miens reflect the local culture well or for particularly regal and beautiful Eshu.

Nunnehi

What sort of Nunnehi exist in Central America and southern Mexico? Exactly who is Duke Topaz fighting?

Central America is indeed left out in the space between the South American Kiths introduced in the Player's Guide and the established Nunnehi Families, primarily rooted in indigenous communities in the United States. Central America and southern Mexico, where Topaz and his troops are hardest pressed, are inhabited by a Nunnehi Family similar to the African Biloko, discussed in the Player's Guide, having different local names in each culture, and Jaguar Warriors who are like the Sachamama if snakes are replaced with Jaguars. It would be too much to do a full write-up on Families which will never appear in New York but feel free to use these in your backstory.
