CtD:Kith-specific FAQs

Old version of Kith-specific FAQs

Eshu

I want my Eshu to have a lot of experience in their Ancestral Homelands, in this life or a past one, but the Player’s Guide gives Kiths for those regions and makes little mention of Eshu or Oba. Are Eshu still from Africa, India, and the Middle East?

The Player’s Guide/ might focus on new Kiths but the Eshu’s origins are the same as they ever were. Every part of the Land of Ancient Dreams and al-Hilal al-Khaseeb counts Eshu and Oba as an indigenous Kith alongside those newly introduced, although some places might know them by a different name. The Nobles in the Land of Ancient Dreams whose Kiths are not mentioned can be assumed to be Oba, though only an Eshu or a member of another indigenous Kith would know. A European Kithain might mistake them for Sidhe whose Miens reflect the local culture well or for particularly regal and beautiful Eshu.

Nunnehi

What sort of Nunnehi exist in Central America and southern Mexico? Exactly who is Duke Topaz fighting?

Central America is indeed left out in the space between the South American Kiths introduced in the Player's Guide and the established Nunnehi Families, primarily rooted in indigenous communities in the United States. Central America and southern Mexico, where Topaz and his troops are hardest pressed, are inhabited by a Nunnehi Family similar to the African Biloko, discussed in the Player's Guide, having different local names in each culture, and Jaguar Warriors who are like the Sachamama if snakes are replaced with Jaguars. It would be too much to do a full write-up on Families which will never appear in New York but feel free to use these in your backstory.
