Traders Lane is the widest road in the city, with up to three wagons being able to ride side by side between the buildings. It is the main trade connection between Market Street and the harbour and circumvents the Maze. Because of the frequency of use, it is also frequently being repaired, which may cause delays, especially near sunrise or sunset. Planters with honeysuckle are present at the base of many of the stone buildings in the area.

As part of the arrangements with the Doge, the street now belongs to the South Quarter, despite laying in the Central Quarter.
