So named for the number of vermin in the place, one may suspect the homeless live here or the very poor but this is not the case. South Vorus has limited homeless for the fact that most people either have arcane powers or are in service to those that do.

Instead, the ratways is where the sewage runs off and where its dirtier industry is placed. The feline population is high in this area. The ratways are prone to flooding if the river swells up. Gentleman Jim is one of this areas most promising people, its rumored he runs the Ratways Brothels; but no proof has been brought to light.

People live in cramped conditions, some would even say they live in the worst condition of the city. It's a vicious place, full of dark thoughts and darker deeds. The smell of the cats urine fights with the smell of the dead.

Despite the bad nature of the place, there are planters of honeysuckle spread through the area, making a failed attempt to cheer the place up.

The Siege did the area no favours and many of the buildings are either damaged or destroyed, with squatters putting up their own shanty construction on the ruins
