Lately Rani has been collecting records on the locations of recently sunken ships, both friendly and enemy ships. When asked why, her answers are:
"Well .... erm ... sunken ships are useful for emergency accomodation for the undersea races, especially if they're reasonably intact. Plus, if they can be got to fast enough, they may also be able to be magically raised and repaired. Put back into use .. unless there's a sailor superstition about using a recycled ship. Dunno about that".
"Bodies? "Yeah ... I guess ... if we can return them to their families .. sure .. or they get ceremoniously buried at sea and the locations marked. All done with respect of course."
"Treasure? Oh .. you mean salvage ... oh .. that gets returned to whom it belongs to of course. Anything else ... *shrugs* Dunno ... you'd have to ask the Ambassador or the PA that. Depends what it is I suppose"
But yeah .. we gotta make sure they don't become navigational hazards"
