Khoy's most notable features are the extensive farmlands surrounding the city, producing large quantities of food to supply other Sayati cities. The city has a large shrine dedicated to Irana.

Khoy lies at the western end of the Shattrah - Khoy trade route, west of Muyahil, north of Chadegan and south of Afouz

Khoy is alwasy in competition with Chadegan.
