Mira, A Khawchaxlk, is raised by the Sangkmhpa Mí. A small traditional folk who worship an old jedi temple and, long forgotten by the rest of the universe. The coming of age ceremony is an important cultural aspect were the person is brought into an hallucinating state in the temple with help of drugs so he or she can see its destiny.

During her ceremony, Mira experienced a great many things, easiest explained as: Space, fear and power. Upon continuing her lessons from her village, which go back to the time the temple was build by the jedi, it was discovered that she could apply some of the lessons as she was force sensitive. Within a few years, she learned everything she could from her teacher, the Kèa Thisud, and she decided to follow her destiny. As she realized that there was so much more to learn about the force, Mira decided at the age of 11, which for a Khawchaxlk is of young adult age, that she wanted to become a jedi. Therefore she had to leave her village behind and seek out other worlds.

She was given one of the few starships from her people and set course for space. The starship was from an unlucky merchant who arrived at her village the day she was born. He got sick and died but the Kèa Thisud believed it to be destiny so she kept it for Mira for the day she would claim it. (This at great displeasure of Midna, Mira her twin sister, who argued that it could be her destiny just as much.)

Mira didn’t know where to go or what to do, but she let the force guide her actions as she set a course for hyperspace. Upon entering Union territory, hungry, dehydrated and tired Mira crash landed at the front door of the jedi temple where she was nursed back to health and adopted by the jedi.
