Underground library disguised as a speakeasy disguised as a bookstore
The Book Nook is an underground library connected to the Undercity that disguises itself as a speakeasy that disguised as a bookstore.
Above ground, it is a small book store in a back alley in The Loop that occasionally doubles as a library to loan books to the poor to provide them with the ability to practice their reading, thus making it appear as if it is a quaint shop that does charity on the side.
When asking for a specific book, which changes from time to time due to 'security reasons', patrons are allowed entry into the back where a fake speakeasy has been built.
In reality though, the speakeasy in turn allows access by stairs to the underground library, which houses not just a large collection of interesting books, but an entire section on the Supernatural. Notably though, not all literature on the topic is necessarily true or accurate, as it contains besides factual reports a lot of speculation and theory crafts.
It is understood that those who want to visit the Book Nook must contribute at least one interesting and rare book to the collection, and that frequent patrons occasionally purchase the overpriced alcohol sold in the speakeasy upstairs.
Supernatural Connection
Being a library with books on the supernatural, the Book Nook is obviously connected to the supernatural, but is also said to be frequented by those who dabble in the arcane arts.
The Book Nook is ran by Mary Mead, who is said to be a witch, though she vehemently denies the accusation.
