Forum

The forums are a convenient way for asynchronous communication with the campaign community. It can be used for rule discussions so it does not take up session time, for forum roleplay and many other functions.

You can have multiple forums divided into groups, and each forum can have different threads where people can post, to help organize the different topics.

Tips & Tricks

  • Do not create too many forums. Unless your community is exceptionally large and complex, ten is more than enough to serve most purposes.
  • Make it clear if forums In Character (IC) or Out of Character (OOC). You can use forum groups or add a mark in the forum name or description. Out of Character information in In Character threads, such as rolls or questions to the DM can be marked using [ooc] [/ooc] markers.
  • If your campaign is invite only, it might be useful to set aside a special forum for guest posts. That way, people can reach out to see if they might be allowed to join without being able to interrupt the other discussions.
