To create permanent rooms, you need either the moderator or operator role.

Permanent rooms are rooms that remain in the room list at all times, even if they are not in use. This is useful for the most common locations or for managing discussions on different topics for larger groups. Like temporary rooms permanent rooms are archived and generate timespans.

If you have the appropriate permissions, the Permanent room... button is visible at the bottom of the room list. It opens the creation form in the main chat window.

For each room, a title and description can be set, as well as an image and location. The location is an optional location listed in the wiki. If the location is linked, the room will automatically use the image for that location if one is available and no manual image has been set.

You can also immediately set a group and order the new room within that group, set it as arrival room or set whether or not the room should produce timespans.
