I see that we have PF and other systems but 5e isn't an option. Will there be any chance to get this system added considering how popular it is? If so, when? Is there something to use in the meantime for character sheets?

We're not sure of the timing of 5e, but in the meantime you can use the copy-paste template posted by Mercury in Custom System - 5e.
