Custom System - 5e

Hi Team,

Since there's no clear time for 5e to be updated in the sheets. Is there a guide on how to create this for custom? I could take a crack at it but need some handholding.

A while back you also posted in regards to 5th edition, and unfortunately we've not been able to complete the work on that yet, for which I do apologize. I will of course keep you posted.

To help you in the interim, I've designed a basic template for a temporary 'character sheet' with some dummy data for you for use in a custom campaign so you can get started without having to wait for us to complete our work. You can of course adapt it to suit the needs of your particular campaign!

In a custom campaign, you can paste this code as the 'default character sheet' (found in the configuration screen, under the cogwheel upper right corner). Direct link for your campaign: https://rpgpad.com/c/evertail/configuration/game-system-configure/custom/sheet-template

Once you save the template, when creating a character or adding a sheet to an existing character, the data will automatically be loaded, though it will need to be filled out manually (the character name is added at the top automatically though)

The layout trickery used here consists mainly of using [cols] [col] [col] [/cols] to make a three column layout, with content, mostly tables and headers, in between the markers, and a few lists using * (two spaces before, one after the *) to itemize the entries. You can easily adapt this to suit your needs of course and add or remove fields, etc.

The text formatting help page ( https://rpgpad.com/c/community/help/text ) also lists some other options that might be useful such as the horizontal rule, automatically numbered lists, etc.

As an additional trick: if you look in the top left corner of the text box, you see a 'preview' button, which you can use to preview what the character sheet will (roughly) look like.

Note that you will have to fill out all the values yourself, as the sheet is just a layout, it will have no automation.

Once we do finish support for 5th edition, I'd be happy to help out with converting the temporary sheet into a proper one with automatic calculation and such, so you do not have to do any extra work on that. And of course if you have any questions, do not hesitate to ask.
