A Kindred who has performed an act of special bravery and fortitude can sometimes be rewarded with a Knighthood. This only very rarely happens to a woman, so it is a very notable title to have.

Dames use the Style of Lady unless they have a higher title and are considered to rank above Lady without this title, but below Sir. The title is not considered between Peers as the higher title is used instead.
