W&N was founded in the City of London in 1875, from a merger of several smaller practices. It advises national and multinational companies, business leaders and high-net-worth individuals across the full range of corporate and commercial matters as well as on their private affairs, primarily focussed around Finance, Corporate and regulatory investigations, Real estate and Tax.

The merge which prompted the founding of W&N was backed with funds from Lord Falkland to guarantee proper equity, estate, and tax planning for himself and the rest of Clan Angliae.

W&N employes a small (para)legal staff, with Mr. William Neish Esq. as the firm's leading partner.
