OOC Suggestion for Manhattan Coterie

The Manhattan Investigative Circle

This weekend I've been thinking about how to tie Lord Krain further into the Manhattan circles. Why would they want such a con and why would it go up to the highest ranks of the clan? On thinking about this I have a draft for the investigative branch in Manhattan, much as Lord Rook has his branch for the London Prince.

The MIC is tasked with both Vampire security, as well as upholding the Masquerade; dealing with breaks, both with the Kine and Kindred. With such a broad task come different branches.

  • Enforcers
    • Protection
    • Masquerade Violation
    • Executioners
  • Investigators
    • Detectives
    • Masquerade Watchers
    • Covert Force

Each of these branches requires different styles. While the protection branch wants strong individuals in both mind and body, the executioners require Kindred with somewhat less humanity qualms.

The Covert Force is a somewhat different beast. It is established to keep tabs, to gather intelligence to aid the whole of MIC. It needs "spooks" as they'd say. Different styles of spooks, too. From the unseen scout to the one all sees, who gathers information by just being the one information flocks to.

That last type is exactly what the branch sought in with Lord Krain. One who can build such a network in short time. Who can arrive at a place and work the scene to his own goals. Who can live a Duke, while not being one.

A Deep Cover Operative if you pardon the Newspeak.

As such, it was the Primogen who was tasked with "recruitment", and both he and the Prince were highly involved in the debriefing.

London

As it is, Lord Krain was sent to London. In the guise of a mailman. Albeit a high profile one. To get intel on the plans of the Werewolves. What are they up to and how might this influence Manhattan. It is a big one, and Lord Krain is highly motivated to get this one under his belt. To also expand his network with London assets, which he thoroughly found to be lacking as of yet.
