Expenses

A slimed down interpretation of the expenses:

Estates:

Primrose cottage: rating 2

New system:

  • Living component
  • Receiving component
  • Dining component
  • Stables Component

Necessary staf:

  • 2 Maids
  • 1 footman
  • 1 cook, 1 girl (kicthen), 1 footman
  • 1 stableboy, 1 driver
  • Ladies Maid
  • Butler
  • Housekeeper
  • Footman (7 total male staff)
  • Head housemaid, maid (10 total female staff)

24 Friend Street: rating 2

New system:

  • Living component x2
  • Receiving component x2

Necessary staff:

  • 2 footman
  • 4 maids
  • Lady's maid
  • Head housemaid (seperate estate)
  • Underbutler (seperate estate)

Agent: Mr. Gardener

Female: 2+1+1 Primrose. 4+1+1, 24 Friend street. Total 10

Male: 1+1+1+1+2 Primrose, 2+1 Friend street. Total 9

Primrose cottage needs an extra 2 maids and a Housekeeper under the new system. Though it has 1 extra footman. 24 Friend street servant count was never defined.

This costs (pounds per month):

  • Primrose components: 20
  • Primrose servants: 56
  • 24 Friend components: 20
  • 24 Friend staff: 31
  • Agent: 10

For a total of 137 pounds per month.

That's not having any double components on primrose cottage. As it's a small house.

Assuming: Head housemaid in a geographically seperate estate does -not- count for +1 female staff to manage them.

Assuming: If you have 4 female staff in one estate, and 4 female staff in a seperate estate. Then you have 8 female staff and require an additional servant to manage them.

Assuming: If you have a geographically seperate estate you require an underbutler if that estate has more than 0 males.

Because: "Additionally, you require an underbutler for every geographically separate estate with three or more male staff." and "Special: If the separate estate only has female staff, you can replace the Underbutler with an Underhousekeeper." does not cover a case of 1-2 male staff.

Income

Assuming I got investments 2 from having wealth 3 for awhile. Miss Gladstone is not a person good at saving up for investments, but would have invested some.

Shop with atelier in the background and room for future expansion might generously be a Large business (3 dots). And a ghoul agent is managing this, so generously assign 5 ranks, giving an average at DC 7 of 2 successes.

I assume no income boosting from aid points to business or favourable circumstances.

This gives an income of:

Base 100

Investment 2 20 * EF

Large Business 15 * 2 * EF

Or 100+50*EF on average

Assuming an EF of 1, that's 150 pounds of income.

150 pounds of income and 137 expenses, leaves 13 pounds of income per month.

This new economic system would mean swiftly dumping 24 Friend Street. Furthermore, Primrose cottage is a small house Miss Gladstone has been living in since she had wealth 2, and she was planning to upgrade to a bigger, more expensive house soon. So currently the expenses should be low.

Larger Estate

I have been waiting till I get either wealth 4 or the new money system has been implemented till I can move to a much bigger house, which Miss Gladstone has been dreaming of for awhile. I will only give the component listings, because I don't have a fully worked out concept for how that house would look like (nor a good picture). This is to give an estimation so that the incomes can be compared for the storyteller.

Module Upkeep Staff Required
Ballroom*2 20 4 maids, 4 footman
Security 5 2 guards
Garden 5 1 gardener, 1 boy
Dining 5 Chef, 2 maids, 1 footman
Receiving * 2 10 1 footman, 2 maids
Living * 3 15 6 maids
Stables 5 1 driver, 1 boy
Total 65 -

Servants:

  • 14 maids (2 in kitchen)
  • 2 boy
  • 6 footman
  • 2 guards
  • 1 gardener
  • 1 chef
  • 1 driver
  • 1 butler (always)
  • 1 ladies maid (Miss gladstone)
  • 1 ladies maid (guest)
  • 1 housekeeper (always)
  • Head housemaid, 2 maid (15 managed female staff)
  • First Footman, Footman (13 managed male staff)

Costs = 14*2+2*1+6*3+2*5+1*7+1*10+1*5+1*10+1*6+1*6+1*8+1*4+2*2+1*5+1*3 = 126

For an estate expenses of 191. May still make it bigger.
