The Spire Perilous and The Swath

The Spire Perilous and the Swath

Past the Anima Mundi and approaching the Dreaming Earth, mages can continue astrally via the Spire Perilous or the Swath. Both such features display unmistakable signs of the city when approached by a mage whose astral body meditates within its borders. The Spire Perilous may represent support pillars, NimCo or SiCast Tower, or even an endless series of rails progressing ever onwards and upwards as around the Core. Typhonides exist here as surely as they do in other manifestations yet Paradi City features seem more resistant to being destroyed., which the Silver Ladder points to as proof of its beliefs. The Mysterium tend to view it as a reinforcement of man’s folly, which Thearchs adamantly deny.

The Swath, likewise, often takes the form of Lower Paradi, an expansive airport full of aviation waste, a train yard, or a highway through a dead city. The dangers are no less real nor the trip any safer for this, and here the Mysterium say Paradi City’s malign influence can be felt, as it begins to creep in and continues towards the Dreaming Earth and Whorl. Free Council mages disagree, claiming it could well be proof that Paradise City is aiding the Swatch in conquering the road to the Supernal without need of the Spire Perilous.

In either case, theories are many and hard proofs are few.
