Once Born a Mortal

Johnathan was not always the young broad shouldered man that people know him as today, in fact he was quite the outcast kid. Round, unhelthly so. Asthmatic, and sluggish. Everything that would keep him out of the social circles that he so desperately wanted to be a part of. And as with most young people there was another who he wanted to be the closest with; unfortunately Johnny always knew that she was not only out of his league, but completely out of the world that the ballpark was in. Hopelessly playing video-games and Dungeons & Dragons online with his friends who couldn't see the horrible mess that he was, Johnny lived a quiet life, only leaving his house for school, and whenever his parents took him out to shop or go on boring family vacations - he was also an only child.

Then Came the Dreams

Well, some called the dreams, Johnny would definitely call them nightmares. Flashes of dungeons and mossy caverns, holdings of iron chains and lashing of whips. Flashes of deformed monsters raking at his body, peeling his skin from his flesh, leaving him raw and burning with pain. His parents eventually had to bring him to a hospital for the insane
