The Voran Civil War was the eventual culmination of a dispute in succession between Thadius Turdy and Reginald Turdy, both of whom claimed the Voran crown. After King Thadius announced his intention to marry Ansellina Luxem, a northern noblewoman, many of the southern houses walked out on the announcement, insulting the king and baring an already existing economic divide between north and south. The disagreement eventually escalated into an armed conflict.

After some months of war, it was discovered that Ansellina Luxem was in fact a demon in disguise, not the noblewoman the King had thought and the war was ended, but by then the divisions were too great for the country to remain together. Duirt hosted a peace negotiation between the Kings where a truce was signed and the former nation of Vorus was split up into North Vorus and South Vorus
