The Darkened Blade

Where does one get such a title from? Well the answer to that is in the midst of the Silver Rain Republic, and the multitude of islands that make up the broken land. Vanya's brother, Zorinstian, Captained a ship that sailed the waters, collecting treasures and conquering land. Vanya at the time was a young priestess to the spirits who offered blessing to the warriors and performed rituals on the ship for good tidings and safe passages.

During an expedition to an uncharted island, Zorinstian was captured along with his invasion party, Vanya being on the ship alone, made her way to her brother's cabin, where she donned one of his suits of armor, picked up a shield and an axe and made her way onto the island. She had 'blacked out', but the stories of her brother and his men all boasted that she was no longer human, but a demon, that day. The axe she wielded burst into violet flames, she carry an aura of blackened fog, and her eyes glow a most menacing crimson. That was the day she earned her title, The Darkened Blade.

Personality

To deal with Vanya is to be confronted with the true face of revenge. It is where those who look upon her realize that "revenge" does not always mean "Good". If you wrong her, she will wrong you back, if you steal from here, she will take everything you own. If you strike her, she will beat you within a fraction of your own life. If you take a limb from her, she'll take 3 in excess from you. If you murder a member of her family, you can rest assured that your lineage will be removed from this existence.

Do not make the mistake that her "revenge" is driven by hatred, in fact there are many who've never crossed her that will tell you of Vanya's undying kindness and dedication. How she's fair and supportive, especially to young women. But that violent streak is just over the hillside.
