Duirt River

The Duirt River is a large river running through the city of Duirt. It becomes navigable from various small streams by Guelderine up north and splits into two major branches in Ecclesian territory, the southern branch being most commonly referred to as the Duirt River. It runs along the Old Forest to Duirt where it spills into the sea in a local delta. The Duirt River also forms a large section of the border between South Vorus and Eccles.

The Duirt River is rather wide and deep and does not flow very fast in most places, but the current is powerful despite of this. In rare cases the river freezes over, either fully or partially, during winter, with water still flowing underneath the ice. It has also been known to pass outside its banks after heavy rainsfall.
