Cardinal Johannes was the head of the Church of Eccles in Duirt during the days of Pontifex Pious. As head of the Church here, he was also the de-facto ruler of the Ecclesian part of Duirt which he and his people administrate from the Cathedral.

The Cardinal was known to be a kind man who has charity distributed generously. A key skill that had him assigned here is his ability to understand and respect the religious beliefs of others, even if he does not share them. That skill has allowed him to get along well with the Silverite and South Voran neighbours and has earned him respect on the other side of the river.

The one thing the Cardinal was known to act harshly against was members of the church - clergy, monks and nuns - who fell into sin, and some, especially those on the receiving end of this harshness, have even called him cruel for it.

Cardinal Johannes died a few years ago, to be replaced by the new Cardinal, Cardinal Stephanus
