Sylvan is the language of the Fey, and the Spirits of Nature. It cannot be easily learned by mortals, and the Fey are not keen to share it. It is a melodic tongue with lots of vowels.

Sylvan has no written form and the Fey think the idea of writing stuff down is not just dumb, but also deceptive and evil, as anything that is remembered is more likely to be accurate and less likely to be manipulated than written text, which cannot be changed to suit the circumstances.
