Announcing the Harvest Festival

In honour of the hard work put in by the cities farmers to bring in a proper harvest despite the devastation brought by the siege and the hunger all suffered during that time, the city of Duirt, supported by all the Noble Houses as well as the Church of Eccles, hereby announces the following:

On the 25th and 26th of September, a festival shall be held to celebrate the harvest and the farmers who made it possible. There shall be games, food and drinks aplenty so all can relax and enjoy.

The announcement noted the festival would take place at Abalone Beach, and rumor said an effort to clear the beach in a manner respectful to the dead was underway to make it so in time for the celebration.

OOC: Be there the weekend of the 25th and 26th, there will be events and fun galore!

Marvolo has taken it upon himself to endorse the Festival for the civilians of Duirt both with house Tenderfoot and on his own, showing his dedication to the civilians of the city, he spends this time visiting the local farmers, offering them aid both financially and in labor. he also helps the citizens of Duirt set up their booths for the festivals, and aids with prizes and refreshments for them to impress their patrons with.

"Let it be known that house Tenderfoot will never forget the hard dedication and work that the people of Duirt do, and let it be known that when the citizens of this great city suffers, so too does the men and women of House Tenderfoot. For no one is ever truly of noble station, without their citizens to help them grow and achieve their visions. Long live Duirt!"

The Barmaid from the Golden Lion, Laleh Elaheh, is seen frequently heading to Abalone Beach now. She often leaves with a few parchments, with various details on them, and moves around the town looking for flyers, memorials, and walls of lost individuals that she looks over with the parchments in her hand, seeming to be trying to match such things up.

She also heads to the Ecclesian District and speaks with priests at the temple, respectfully covering her hair in cloth when she does to observe their customs and preferences, to get access to their books of the lost.

Rumor has it that more than a few people are visited by her in the coming days...individuals whom are given closure for the loss of their loved ones, and told of their bravery and sacrifice from the Siege. For those that need the comfort, she stays with them and consoles them, offering soft words of encouragement and faith to them - regardless what their beliefs are, or their culture. For those that have family to support them, she gently tells the news, and asks they leave message for her at the Golden Lion so that she can care for their lost loved ones remains in the ways of their preference.

Vanessa has been at Abalone Beach a lot lately, helping with the cleanup and retrieving remains from under the water. Any information she obtains is passed to Laleh

Milo also is seen helping with the cleanup of Abalone Beach, he uses his own personal wealth to hire some of the citizens that are in need of work to aid in the clean up of the Beach and the removal of the dead in honor.

House Frost stands with House Tenderfoot as we always have. We stand with Duirt as we always have. We welcome this joyous Festival that will bring bounty and happiness to all that live in our great city.

Nari has been coming into the city more often once he had heard of this. As a witch and so guardian of the connection between the spirits and the living he has taken to helping the Dwarf and others with cataloging, and proper movement of the bodies so that they can be safely and humanely kept until family comes to claim them, or the religious factions come to properly take care of them.

Jaeden has also been making his way to the beach but more in an official capacity. He shepards those families from the Ecclisian section to the beach in their search for loved ones. Making sure that they stay orderly and do not disturb the dead or those working on the beach. Then when done he shepards them back to their homes.

Roll:
Jaeden Tybolt (Diplomacy): 17 = 1d20 [7] + 10 For helping to keep the pilgrims calm and orderly but compassionate about their plight.

As the efforts pick up with the help of the others around the city doing their part, Laleh continues her own. Moving to aiding the kind Dwarf that has been handling so much of these efforts on his own for so long, she takes an administrative role - guiding workers and families around the site, consoling the mourners, and engaging with diplomatic groups. She still takes her lists to the walls of remembrance around the city, still does what she can to identify the new bodies that Vanessa is finding in the water, and get them their proper final rites.

Meanwhile, she hires on several groups of workers under her own employ from laborers around the city. They begin the process of stripping down and dismantling the wrecks of former ships that are on the beach, clearing away the debris and detritus that has been allowed to sit for too long. Piles of rotten lumber, rusted metals and old, sunbaked and molded riggings and sails begin to be made, and then carted away to places they can be made useful again: apart from these, a special section of the beach is marked off once it is cleared out, though its purpose remains a mystery to most for the moment.

(( Laleh will continue to use her Lore Master ability for Taking 10 in Knowledges Local, Religion, Nobility and more to identify bodies, and help with the process. ))

Roll:
Laleh Elaheh (Diplomacy): 31 = 1d20 [12] + 19 Aiding and Comforting Mourners, and Diplomacy with Nobility

After the trip to the Ferency lands last week, and despite the attack on her life last night, Laleh returns to the Beach without pause to oversee the new project she was working on. As the beach continued to be cleaned, those ship hulls that still had usable materials on them were stripped, and wagons of smoothed and polished limestone from the Ferency Quarry were brought in, as construction scaffolding was erected on the section of the beach that had been marked off - members of the crews of workers that Laleh had hired being put to work on those efforts, while others continued to work with the debris, and body removal.

Laleh herself, continues to work on identification, as well as overseeing the construction itself, and working with anyone that continues to be involved - from nobility to common man, in making sure their best talents were put to work for the efforts. By this weekends festival, both the construction project - and the cleaning efforts - would be completed.

Roll:
Laleh Elaheh (Diplomacy): 32 = 1d20 [13] + 19 Working with people and nobility, aiding and comforting mourners, and continuing efforts.
