The road so far

No tags

Kaleb had been working on the road for just over a year now, it hadn't gotten so far that he, his workers or guards couldn't get back and forth from the city easily. Especially since they were building out from the city still and a few cozy places to rest their weary toes by warm hearths on the way. It had been a year but building such places and things took time. Especially when magic wasn't being used. A total of 4 Hostels had been built and filled along with the road.

So far they had build a well designed road that was resistant to weather changes and easy to tread upon without getting lost. It was easily wide enough to comfortably have caravans passing each other that were going in opposite directions. And every 8 miles was a large hostel built beside the rode that took in travelers that wanted a place to stay that was warm, and good food and drink as well as guards and places for wagons and animals. The spacing of the Hostels had been chosen so that even those who walked could get to one without hurrying before the night came.

The first Hostel, or the last if you were on your way to Duirt was named Frosty Frosts Warm House which had been built on the bones of old Frostville. The main house had been expanded a bit in case of large influx of travelers for holidays or trouble. The pool had been changed into a natural pool that livestock could easily drink their fill safely. Some flowers including blood roses had been added, but none the less for those who had traveled to Frostville at it's height would easily recognize the main building. There was a common room but other dining areas as well. Including some underground. All of which sported furniture that could accomadate any of the races. Also there were rooms made the same, so that halfling to the tallest half orc could rest or sit, or sleep upon furniture best suited for them.

There was also at each hostel a building built on to the main building that housed the guards that patrolled the roads and protected the hostels and their visitors. The guards roamed along the roads to help discourage monsters and brigands alike and would stay at the hostel for free and free meals as well as a few free drinks.
