Did he just get the middle finger or is it the real thing?

After the encounter with the merchant who peddles what he calls quest items where their quests are unresolved and are searching for the right person for the job, Jaeden quickly had taken the crystal container that supposedly held the fingerbone of Saint Arabella,a name he recognized. It was the name of the founder of an order of nuns in the Dark Lands, where she had a reasonable following. If this was her finger bone, it would be a holy relic the church would be happy to retrieve.

Though he had no way to verify that the item was as claimed, and there had been no feeling of holiness when he had touched the container he never the less would hold it reverently as he took it inside the church. Going to the office of the highest priest he had reasonable access too. To present the item and telling the story that had been passed onto him from the merchant. The the last living member of an adventuring group had still had it among his articles and was unable to continue the quest. So the merchant had retrieved it, and it came to his hands by that merchant. He gave the name of the saint that the finger bone was supposed to belong to and then let the priest do as he would with such a curious discovery.

"This is quite a remarkable find" the Priest noted, getting out a magnifying glass to inspect the container.

"I can tell you that this is a genuine reliquary - look, the seal is visible here" he motioned - it was subtle, but a fine seal was marked into the gold at the base of the crystal that held the fingerbone. "So I think it is safe to say that you have recovered a lot relic!"

The priest stood back a moment, making a motion of prayer.

"Do you happen to know the nature of the quest? If not, I can send word for someone of the Order of Saint Arabella to come have a look?"

I don't believe I was told much more than a group of adventurers had been tasked with it, but not what they had been tasked to do with it. I apologize. I had hoped that if it were the real thing, that there might be records of what it needed to be moved for.
