Baele takes his spoils.

As his family argued with the Asa, as if that was going to change the Ecclisian's mind Baele had searched the ship top to bottom finding nothing of value. At least they would have the ship. On a hunch though from working with the Stripper Melody the night or two before he went up on deck and stipped off his captains coat and handed Peg, his monkey his hat while the little one also guarded his coat.

Then Baele slipped into the water sneakily and dove down to see if the Mermaid he had asked the Bull captain about earlier was alive. She was and he took the time to undo the chains from the ship. She was weak, dazed, and scared but the strength of his personality as well as the face he was taking her from her captivity she followed him docily. Getting her up to the docks he covered her with his sea coat, put on his hat and snuck her by his family. He was a captain and is allowed triple shares for his participation. Still he knew family would want to claim her and he didn't wish an argument. Leaving them the silver chain to keep or sell and the family as a whole getting the ship he took his prize to his own.

The Sirens Call had just pulled back into port from blocking the earlier ship from escape. He took the young merwoman to his cabin and left her in the care of his good wife Byrony. Then went to seek out Melody to see if she could help bring the mer girl back to health more ably then him. They spoke and he took Melody aboard his ship to give a look. After following Melody's suggestions the mer girl was soon resting under some sea water collected into a giant barrel which gave her some room to toss about on her own. He also spent time conversing not just with Melody but his wife, while rocking in a chair next to the barrel so the girl could get used to his voice. Telling her sea stories and singing some sea shanties. All the while the girl didn't flip out and get herself hurt or killed.

After a day of rest and relaxation in her Barrel of Salt Water, she submerges for a long moment examining her barrel. She curiously pokes her head from out of the water keeping her eyes just over the rim looking at those around her. She watched Baele rocking in the chair, a strange thing to be sure, she listened to his words as she formulated her options. When she spoke it was like upon the sound of a song of the waves hitting rocks. It was soft and delicate.

"Where am I? What has happened? Whom are you?" She first speaks in Aquasian.

he stops singing when he sees her head pop up a bit but keeps rocking. Peg his monkey hops onto his shoulder and watches her.

(( in Aquasian. )) I'm guessin ye don' normally give yer name o'fore askin someone elses. But I'll forgive ye that since ye woke up in a strange spot and were somewhat assaulted o'fore that. I am Captain Baele Kraken, an ye are aboard me ship, the Sirens Song. I rescued ye from underneath that Minotaurs ship after my family an I took it. If ye ever meet her. A Miss Melody was th one ta clue me in tha Minotaur tend to keep yer lot there fer good luck...an I hope ye don' mind. But wha' is yer name lass? An would ye like somethin to eat? I have some suggested merfolk food here.

He is a few years her junior at least in looks but he has a powerful feel to his personality.

She pokes her head up higher hearing the response in her native tongue, this impressed the little Mer. Do you have any Kelp? In my Pod I am given the name Lorelai. I am very pleased you speak the language of my people but your accent is very strange. Thank you for your aid to me, Captain.

he moves from his chair to the table and takes a pot from it, bringing her that then settling that on some hooks to the side of the barrel she could see that there was fresh kelp being kept in some sea water that she could now easily reach from within the barrel. Then he fetched a plate that had dried seaweed on it with some type of herbs in both offerings. Before taking a seat again. Peg had kept turning on Baele's shoulder so he could keep his curious eyes on her.

Well met then Miss Lorelai. I can quit callin ye Ariel...an yer welcome.

he smiled when she said his accent was very strange but he'd learned hers from sailing all over the place learning here and there so that fit.

So perhaps we shoul talk about what we should do next...at least once ye'v eaten yer fill.

She took only a moment to sniff the offering of Kale and Seaweed before digging into it and eating it directly with her fingers. She looked like she had not eaten an while as she consumes the offered food in moments. She looks slightly embarrassed for a moment diving down under the water before coming back up. She pulls her arms over the barrel's rim keeping her tail under the water. Oh Spirits that was good thank you. Where are we located if I may ask? Why do you have a Siren here?

he watches her eat and smiles. he'd figured she hadn't been fed while a captive and she had a good appetite. He lets her finish and wash up.

We are in the Eastern Port o a city named Duirt. An Melody says she aint a Siren but a cousin was. Or if'n ye were asking abou th name o me ship. I liked th name an thought it was only fitten for th soft skin of a female touch the soft skin o' th ocean mother.

he smiles at that. he seems to be at ease but when he had moved to get her food she would have been able to see that he wore a rapier on his right hip.

So he was armed.

She looked very sad at hearing this. I do not know of such a place. I fear I am so very far from my Pod. I do not know where I am or how I can get back.

Tell me of the dry lands around where you lived. Perhaps I will know of them. There are also mer people here below us. I don' know em, but ye may be able ta find out wha ye want. I remember there used ta be a woman tha was kind of o dignitary between the land lubbers and th Merfolk.

She frowned and looked thoughtful for a while before answering. I do not know the land walker names for them but there are land above where my Pod resides. I have never been above the waves, as the Elders said it was not safe. She will describe to the best of her ability. (( You will need to use the [Add Freeform Roll - Knowledge Geography DC 20 or Profession: Sailor DC 25 to know location. You may recruit others to help. ))

Baele is fairly certain the location of Lorelai's Pod is about 500 miles North by Northwest of Duirt. Near a Republic island named: Nayti.

Yeah. he nods. I'm pretty sure I know where that is. The island that you knew of is called Nayti. It's a good place to get stores for long voyages. Would you want to go back right away or maybe hang out here with these Merfolk first?

I am unsure. I am still very tired. I think I may like to get to know the local community before trying to return to my Pod. (( You'll need a Diplomacy check to try to sway her in one direction or another depending on your end goal. ))

(( His end goal is to see her safely to her people. He doesn't care if it's here or her own villiage. He's Lawful evil and part of his personal code is to help women who can't help themselves. Unless it's under strict orders from above him. Then he listens to family. ))

That is fine Lorelai. Ye may rest here as long as ye wish. he smiles at her. An when ye are ready I can help ye into th waters so ye can go meet yer people here. If'n things do na turn out as well as ye hoped ye can return ta here and we can talk again about plans...I believe tha should leave ye with the most available leeway.
