Orb of Dimensions

Part of the boundary of a 4-sphere

Attuned to: John Doe
Rating: 1

While this artifact has the outward appearance of a simple sphere, it actually is part of the boundary of a 4-shpere. Rotating the sphere will change the part of the boundary present in creation. In particular rotating the sphere along the pitch, roll or yaw directions will produce translations of the present part in one of the three available degrees of freedom. In order to reproduce the conventional spherical rotations, or to rotate the inside of the sphere out, the user has to alternate two of the tree available rotational directions in a clever way.

The only known application of this artifact is to write on it. By subsequently rotating the artifact, this will create an enormous noteblock that with some skill also allows 3d sketches. Left to its own devises this artifact will slowly conform to the colours of its surroundings. It is currently unknown if this is the only artifact of its kind, and if other copies interface into the same 4-sphere.

Its previous owner(s) left designs for a manse-like tower, an artifact computer chip and a rocket. In addition some philosopher has used it a scratch-pad.
