Youn enjoy widespread recognition in society, perhaps as an entertainer, writer or athlete. People may enjoy just being seen with you. This gives you all manner of privileges when moving in society, but can also attract an unwanted amount of attention should you wish to do things without being known for it. The greatest weapon fame has to offer is the ability to sway public opinion—as modern media constantly proves.

This Background is a mixed blessing. You can certainly enjoy the privileges of your prestige—getting the best seats, being invited to events you'd otherwise miss, getting appointments with the elite—but you're also often recognized when you'd rather not be. However, your enemies can't just make you disappear without causing an undue stir.

Note that the descriptions with the ratings indicate the relative size of the population segment to which you are famous. They need not necessarily be confined to a geographical area.

1 You are known in a subculture of a nation.

2 You are well-known to a segment of the population of a large nation (or several smaller nations).

3 You are a celebrity in a direction of creation, or to an equally large segment of the population of the whole of creation.

4 You are a well-known celebrity in the whole of creation, known and recognized by most in urban areas all over creation.

5 You are a legend in your own right, a creation-wide celebrity known and recognized everywhere you go.
