If the target has any available energy channels, they automatically commit one energy channel. If they do not, you must commit an energy channel instead. The target is automatically stabilized and does not lose any further hit points. If the creature later takes damage, it continues dying normally. After being stabilized, if the creature has a Recovery Buffer, and it is empty, they gains one hitpoint to their recovery buffer. If they already have hitpoints in their Recovery Buffer, they gain no additional benefit.
