As a Psychic, Svala receives a Phrenic Amplification. This is a proposal for a different ability on the list.

Retain Power (Su): The psychic can spend 1 point from her Phrenic Pool to contain her power instead of using it to power her inscriptions for one round. Doing so causes her one point of damage.

During the round she is retaining power, she is unable to cast spells or use abilities powered by her inscriptions, but she can take other actions as normal, such as moving, attacking with a melee weapon, and so on.

At the start of her next turn, the psychic can spend another point of her Phrenic Pool to continue to charge the effect, taking another point of damage, or she can discharge the energy she has stored up, so long as she has Phrenic Points remaining. When she discharges the energy, everything within five feet, except the psychic herself and her own items, suffers 1d6 points of damage for each point of the Phrenic Pool used to charge up the effect.

The build up of power in the psychic is visible and obvious to those who can see or hear her as it crackles over her skin where the inscriptions are laid.

Damage suffered by the Psychic from this use of the Phrenic pool cannot be healed until after reinscription.
