As a Psychic, Svala receives a Phrenic Amplification. This is a proposal for a different ability on the list.
Retain Power (Su): When casting a spell, the psychic can spend 1 point from her Phrenic Pool to retain some of her power, cycling it through her inscriptions instead of letting it go. Doing so causes her one point of non-lethal damage per level of the spell. Non-lethal damage from this ability can't be reduced or redirected. The Psychic cannot use this ability if she cannot take non-lethal damage and cannot use it if it would reduce her to 0 hp or less.
If she does, she gains charge, which lights up her inscriptions and may occasionally cause crackles of energy to run over her skin, increasing in power and frequency if charge is built using a higher level spell.
As a standard action, the Psychic can release the charge, dealing 1d6 damage per level of the spell to every person and object within 5 feet, except the Psychic herself, with a Reflex save allowed for half damage. The DC of the saving throw equals the saving throw of the spell used to gain the charge.
If she does not discharge, the energy dissipates over time, reducing the charge by one point per hour.
While charged, the Psychic cannot heal the non-lethal damage taken from this power or regain points used in her Phrenic Pool - she needs to discharge the energy first before being able to rest.
