Shinta is the bother of Kyoraku he is married and has two children of which Kenji is the oldest. He is the more social of the Kukichi brothers. He together with Kyoraku made sure that it is going well for the Kukichi's and that Kyoraku's failed engagements did not cause to much problems. He is the one that figured out that he could use his brother very well in a good cop bad cop trick. With this trick he usually made Kyoraku be the bad cop because of of Kyoraku's straightforwardness and eccentricities. He get along well with his brother even though they are different and not blood related.
