Kozeni is an intelligent item and genie spirit, usually taking the form of a magical purse. She is slightly mischievous but very serious about economics, money and trade.

Her hobbies include reading economic text and ledgers, numismatics and gemology.

Change Shape (Sp)

While Kozeni's basic form is that of a genie-like humanoid, she spends most of her time as a bag, purse or chest of some sort.

Kozeni can take the shape of any type of bag, purse, chest, jewelry-box or other container that would reasonably hold valuables. This ability is not triggered by the holder, but rather is activated by Kozeni herself, as circumstances would reasonably dictate.

For example, while carried by a woman she may take the form of an elegant purse, and while carried by a masculine warrior, Kozeni may choose a rugged leather bag. If stored away, Kozeni might take the shape of a treasure chest, or a simple purse depending on the surroundings.

While in item form, Kozeni is treated for all intents and purposes as an intelligent magic item and following that is targeted as an object, not a creature.

Eat value (Sp)

Whenever fungible items which primarily represents value -- such as coins, bars of precious metals, gemstones or Writs of Baraff -- are inserted into the purse, Kozeni will eat the items (both in human and bag form). This utterly destroys the item, so they do not add to her weight.

An important aspect of this power is that the item is not merely consumed, but its financial value is extracted and kept.

Kozeni does not like the taste of fiat currency, jewellery or art which has value beyond its basic material, nor items that are individually significant, such as someone's special lucky coin or a bar of gold that was just used as a murder weapon. Such items do not represent 'pure' value and are spit back out as a result, wet but otherwise unaffected.

Track Value (Ex)

Kozeni keeps track of exactly how much value she has been fed and in what amounts and will reveal the amount upon being asked.

Produce Value (Su)

Kozeni is able to cough up—somehow always slightly wet—commodity money such as coins or bars, as well as gemstones, in amounts and values intended by the person holding her. For small amounts of coins and such, this is done by reaching inside while in purse form, or holding her upside down until sufficient amounts have poured out.

Coins or bars produced in this manner are always in the form of fungible commodity money (such as gold or silver coins) in the common denominations of the location. Any gemstones produced are standard variations of the gem, with no special qualities or unique properties, though such gemstones can be used as material components in spells.

Kozeni can produce value up to the amount fed to her, minus one gold piece, which she keeps for herself in perpetuity.

Economic Stability (Su)

Having a deep concern for, and supernatural understanding of, economic stability, Kozeni will never consume or produce value in amounts that would destabilize a currency, affect exchange rates, or otherwise upset the local economy (such as by overloading a small community with gold). In converting she takes into account the local exchange rate, as well as the effort to travel to a different location with a better exchange rate.

She never produces value such that the base material of the gems, coins or bars produced would be relevant economically. For example, if there is a shortage of silver, she cannot be used to turn large quantities of gold into silver and solve the shortage. Likewise, while she can produce a material component gem in a pinch, she cannot be used to create a massive amount of material components if those materials would not be otherwise available in the region, such as producing a large amount of obsidian to raise an army of undead or the likes.
