The Choto is a special koto which enables the user to attack opponents from a distance by fierce powerchords. The name is thought of by the famous bard named Goro Awase, which thought it to be funny to name the weapon by combining the word for koto with the word for longbow (chokyu). It also resembles the word "shot".

Every time the bard hits a certain chord, the bard deals an attack with 1d8 dmg with +1 to hit, with a range of 60 ft. These chords do "not exist" according the emperor (mainly because they deviate from the standard pentatonic scale), and they can therefore never played accidentally. Furthermore, the chords are so dissonant that no sound musician would play them anyway. The Choto can therefore also be used as a masterwork instrument (+2 performance bonus).

The Choto weighs 8 lbs, and the costs are 100 (longbow) + 300 (masterwork weapon) + 55 (masterwork instrument) + 2000 (sonic dmg)
