The Ryutoku is a magical instrument that enhances the performances of the wielder. Allowing the wielder to turn any venue into a perfect one.
Enhanced Acoustics: The Ryutoku magically alters the sound played to perfectly fit the area, and even make it into a proper sound hall. Using this, any pub or field can be turned into a great opera hall.
The user of this lute never receives negative circumstance penalties for performing in areas with bad acoustics.
Versatile tunes: The Ryutoko can alter the tunes of its strings, allowing the wielder to perform tunes from different instruments and larger ranges of music.
A bard that uses this instrument can use their bardic performance pool to also perform Satire (APG:81), Mockery(APG:81), Dweomercraft(APG:82) and True Confession(APG:81). In order to use a specific bardic performance the bard must have the level normally required.
Up to 11: This lute goes loud! The user of the lute can play notes much more amplified than a normal lute should they so choose. Allowing for a more full range of expression, or to reach a larger audience, it can also be used to hype up listeners.
Whenever the user of the lute uses a Bardic Performance that grants a competence bonus, the competence bonus granted to allies increases by 1. This benefit does not apply to spells that grant competence bonuses, nor does it stack with other item effects that increase competence bonuses.
Bardic Performances added
Satire (Su): A court bard can use performance to undermine the confidence of enemies who hear it, causing them to take a –1 penalty on attack and damage rolls (minimum 1) and a –1 penalty on saves against fear and charm effects as long as the bard continues performing. This penalty increases by –1 at 5th level and every six levels thereafter. Satire is a language-dependent, mind-affecting ability that uses audible components. This performance replaces inspire courage.
(( maybe something like the exagerated pose of the masked performer bard variant. Change your pose and movements to gain a small competence bonus to a str or dex or cha skill ))
Mockery (Su): A court bard of 3rd level or higher can subtly ridicule and defame a specific individual. The bard selects one target who can hear his performance. That individual takes a –2 penalty on Charisma checks and Charisma-related skill checks as long as the bard continues performing. This penalty increases by –1 every four levels after 3rd. Mockery is a language-dependent, mind-affecting ability that relies on audible components. This performance replaces inspire competence.
(( Try a bardic performance that subtly mocks the person by placing notes at the exact wrong times for them. Giving that person a -2 penalty on charisma checks, yadayada, when interacting with people at the social scene of the mockery, either directly effected or by rumour ))
(( A bardic performance that allows the subtle casting of spells without the notice of others. A perception check opposed by a perform roll. ))
True Confession (Su): At 9th level, a detective can use performance to trick a creature into revealing its secrets. Using this ability requires a successful Sense Motive check to see through a Bluff or notice mental compulsion. After 3 continuous rounds of performance, the target must make a Will save (DC 10 + 1/2 the bard’s level + the bard’s Cha modifier). Success renders the target immune to this power for 24 hours. On a failed save, a liar inadvertently reveals the lie and the truth behind it. A creature under a charm or compulsion reveals the nature of its enchantment and who placed it (if the creature knows) and gains a new saving throw to break free from the enchantment. This ability is languagedependent and requires audible components. Using this power requires only 2 rounds of performance at 15th level, and 1 round of performance at 20th level. This performance replaces inspire greatness
